This is an easy 5 step cake recipe that proves that your don’t need butter to make this perfect fluffy tea time treat.
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 cups of self raising flour
- 3/4 cups of caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1tsp of vanilla extract
Mix the milk, flour and caster sugar together until you get a reasonably smooth dough like batter.
Add the eggs one by one making sure to mix in the figure of eight to keep all the air in, then add the vanilla extract .
Pre heat your oven for 5-10 mins on 190 degrees celcius.
Grease and line your chosen cake tin and add the mixture in. Then place in the oven for roughly 30-40 mins or until the cake is done throughout and golden.
Leave the cake to cool completely. Once this is done you can then half the cake and add a jam of your choice. Dust with icing sugar to finish.
