Green tea and all its goodness

Green tea is my absolute favourite drink, I can’t go a day without drinking at least two cups of the heavenly thing. Much to my surprise and joy I recently found out that all the ridiculous amounts my family and I consume could actually be doing us some good (a lot of good apparently). So good that tons of  medical research has been done about it as it now considered a superfood that some claim can help with anything from dehydration to cancer.Of cousre for some this is not new news the chinese have been using green tea for centuries as medicine. What makes it so good? It contains these things called catechins that  are awesome  antioxidants that protect cells from being damaged.

Health benefits!

  • Improves blood flow and lowers cholesterol aka getting you on track for a healthy heart
  • Stabilises blood sugar levels – good for diabetes
  • Increase metabolism
  • Help maintain healthy weight loss – extra emphasises on the word healthy
  • Stress reliever due to amino acids calked thiamine – cancel those yoga lessons asap
  • Tooth decay
  • Healthier skin
  • Excellent hydration – some even say its  better than water

Tips on how to be #teamgreentea

  1. Don’t add to boiling water let it cool down a little, you don’t want to burn the anti dioxins
  2. Add lemon or lime slices for a vitamin  C boost
  3. Drink at least 3 cups a day, for best results (starting to sound like an advert now)
  4. Try fruit flavours you can buy anything from pineapple to pomegranate, for those not keen on the taste ( quite frankly I find it delicious)* Twinnings have a great selection of green tea flavours
  5. Place it in the freezer for a refreshing summer time drink

You’re welcome – spread the word to someone else they will thank you for it later 😀
